One night in prison, three months on a Hawaiian cruise ship, four EPs and several European tours later, The King’s Parade have finally announced the release of their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Waves’. Flitting seamlessly between atmospheric indie rock, retro soul and blues, beautifully crafted ballads and infectious pop songs, the London four piece are hard to pin down sonically, but have often been compared to the likes of Michael Kiwanuka, Alabama Shakes and Half Moon Run. 2021 brings us the release of their debut album out this May; another stunning collection of songs from the group, recorded and Produced by Grammy® Award Winner, Guy Massey (Ed Sheeran, Jack Savoretti, The Libertines) and Marco Pasquariello at Snap Studios (Coldplay, Snow Patrol) in London. Last year, the band treated fans to a taste of what’s to come, releasing the first five singles from the album. The video for their first single, ‘Mario’, gained 150k views in two weeks and was lauded for its creativity as the band, like so many others, had to create something self-produced during lockdown. Then came their second single, ‘How Long?’ which featured in The Independent’s ‘Now Hear This’ column and was labeled their ‘best song to date.’ Subsequent releases ‘Brother’, ‘Sister’ and ‘Wait’, continued to build momentum, receiving support from BBC 6Music (Tom Robinson), BBC Introducing (Coventry and Warwickshire), Amazing Radio, PopWrapped and many more. The band’s latest single. ‘Wait’, also received huge support from Spotify, who added it to their official ‘New Music Friday UK’ and ‘Lost in the Woods’ playlists to close 2020 on a high. Having established a loyal live fanbase and streams in the tens of millions across all platforms online, the band are excited to play live again, and have confirmed a support exchange with Billy Lockett appearing together on stage at the Clapham Grand in April, and again at their highly anticipated album launch at Omeara in London this June. The band received private investment from a number of music industry executives in 2020, and as the first release under new management, this debut album chalks a key milestone in their emerging career. “It’s captivating alt-soul melding classic blues influences with more of a modern pop vibe.” The Independent “Elegant guitar riffs and heart melting vocals.” Wonderland “The group are a sought after creative force.” Clash “The four-man band is one of the most naturally talented groups out there.” Earmilk
